Eine Klangoptimierung reicht über die gewöhnliche Klangeinstellung hinaus. Das allgemein praktizierte Verstellen des Stimmstocks kann zwar Teil einer Optimierung sein, spielt jedoch eher eine untergeordnete Rolle.

Mein Verständnis von Klangoptimierung wurde unter anderem inspiriert durch die Zusammenarbeit mit Bernd Müsing, dem Gründer der Firma ARCUS.

So gibt bis zu 15 verschiedene Faktoren, die es für eine klangliche und spielerische Verbesserung harmonisch aufeinander abzustimmen gilt. Dazu gehören unter anderem das Ausbalancieren verschiedener Resonanzen und Kräfteverhältnisse im Instrument.

Je nachdem, welche klangliche Ausrichtung erreicht werden soll, stehen für bestimmte Instrumententeile auch unterschiedliche Materialien zur Verfügung.
